Juventus could sell Teun Koopmeiners to make way for another midfielder
Juventus last big purchase came last season when they signed Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta near the end of the transfer window. Then head coach, Thiago Motta was a huge fan of the attacking midfielder and was imminent that Juventus needed to bring him in.
This led to Juventus spending 60 million euros to bring the dutch-man in from Atalanta. Koopmeiners was seen as a long term investment for the future of Juventus. However, he has since been the otherwise struggling for most of his career in Turin. This has lead to current head coach Luciano Spalletti shifting him into a centre back.
Even with Koopmeiners defensive contributions he still could be on his way out of Turin. This is due to Juventus not seeing the worth in using Koopmeiners as a centre back. Juventus, aren’t actively looking for a sale for Koopmeiners but if one came a long with a good bid they wouldn’t hesitate to sell.
Now, however Juventus could look to make that move possible with a Turkish side interested. This come from reports from Turkish news paper Fanatik, saying that Galatasaray are interested in Teun Koopmeiners. Galatasaray have previously had interest in Inter midfielder Davide Frattesi but that move has since broken down. (read more here)
Galatasaray are looking to improve their squad with multiple signings in January, and Koopmeiners could be one of those names. However, it is still unclear if any talks have happened between the two clubs yet for Koopmeiners. Juventus could look to replace Koopmeiners, with an another attacking midfielder.
Juventus already have a name in mind as an attacking midfielder they can sign. This would be Bernardo Silva from Manchester City according to Mirko Di Natale. However, Juventus won’t aim to sign Silva in January instead waiting for next summer when he will be out of contract. Juventus, won’t be the only team after Silva however with multiple teams chasing his signature if he leaves Manchester.
