AC Milan have been one of the busiest teams in this January mercato so far. They registered their new striker signing, German Niclas Fullkrug on the first of January. However, the Milan and West Ham had agreed on all the terms of the deal prior to the opening of the transfer window.

Now, Milan are looking to solidify their defence chasing all kind of names. First it was Federico Gatti who they offered Juventus multiple swap deals for, (read more here). They are also trying to make sure that they can hold on to what they already have offering Fikayo Tomori a contract extension (read more here).

Even if they keep all the three of their starting centre backs, new head coach Massimiliano Allegri is still requesting more signings. This is leading AC Milan to looking towards the Premier League for options on who to sign come January, to help the squad for a title race.

This comes from a report from Daniele Longo on youtube, which states the main name Milan is following is Murrilo and Joe Gomez. Murillo from Nottingham Forrest is their preferred option over Joe Gomez.

The main reason Murrilo is favoured over Joe Gomez is due to physical qualities. Murrilo is a muscular centre back who prefers to use his size, something Milan lack compared to the rest of Serie A. Meanwhile Joe Gomez is more versatile and quicker with the ball at his feet something not needed by Allegri.
