Inter Milan have opened talks as they are on the search for the next goalkeeper
Inter have been one of the most financially responsible teams in Serie A, at least in the current transfer market. They have been looking for plenty of free agents signing after Covid. There main smart signings they have made are Marcus Thuram and Yann Sommer, who wasn’t a free transfer but extremely cheap for a player of his quality. All of this work has been done by Giuseppe Marotta for Inter.
Yann Sommer has been elite for Inter Milan in between the sticks after the departure of Andre Onana to Manchester United. However, Sommer is slowly getting up their in years, being 37 year old and not getting any younger. Of course a goalkeepers age isn’t as important to other positions.
But, Inter will still need a plan for when Sommer is ready to leave. Josep Martinez is already at Inter Milan, he has been rotated to start over Sommer for some games. However, it’s hard to believe that Cristian Chivu and Giuseppe Marotta would push for a whole season with him.
This has lead Inter to being looking for replacements for Sommer, as ready as this month. This is according to reports from Sky Sport which state that Inter have opened up talks with Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa. Martinez current contract with Villa expires at the end of this season.

Currently, it isn’t guaranteed that Martinez will stay with Villa after this season. This has lead to Inter Milan probing around him and his camp seeing if they can convince him to move to Milan. Inter making Martinez would make sense as a natural progression from Yann Sommer.
Martinez has been offered a 4 million euro per season contract by Inter Milan if he is to join the Nerazzurri. The initial contract offer would be a two year deal which would see Martinez stay in Milan until he is 36. This would take him to the same age that Sommer was at the start of this season.

Inter Milan getting closer to agreeing on a deal for Marco Palestra
Inter Milan looked dominate in Serie A last season, as they walked to their 21st Scudetto. It was an opening success for Cristian Chivu in his first season as coach. However, now Inter need to look to keep their dominance, and to be strategic in the market to do so.
A typical way to do this is gto keep the same quality squad, but get younger. Inter will look to do this at the wingback position as they lost Denzel Dumfries. Dumfries left Inter, as Real Madrid activated his 25 million euro release clause at the start of the transfer window.

Inter have now set their sights on Marco Palestra who is owned by Atalanta. Palestra had a breakout season last campaign as he was loaned out to Cagliari. He played well enough to earn a place in the Azzurri for the World Cup Qualifying playoffs, as he featured in both games.
His improved form has gone unnoticed as it is leading Inter to spend 50 million euros to sign him this summer. This comes from a report from Nico Schira via X. However, the deal is not complete with Atalanta yet as the clubs still have disagreements over sell on clauses and bonuses.
But, this is the only issue standing in the way of the deal as Inter have already agreed terms with Palestra. This will see him join Inter on a contract until 2031 once the deal is complete. He will earn 3 million euros per season as part of the deal to join the Nerazzurri.

Goncalo Ramos is a new target for AC Milan as Santiago Gimenez could leave this summer
Last week, AC Milan took their first step to change for the future by announcing Ruben Amorim as their new coach. Milan are still without board leadership, but the club began to plan their summer. This came as they wanted to build a new revolutionised team for Amorim for next season.
If Milan wanted to build a new team for next season, some players will have to be sold to make it possible. Santiago Gimenez is one of the first names on the list as Milan look for a new striker. Gimenez season was ruined by injury this campaign which saw him fall into poor form.
However, even without this Gimenez has only scored seven goals in 37 games for AC Milan. This has put him firmly on the chopping block as Milan look for new names this summer. Transfer market specialist Daniele Longo has now linked him to a move to the MLS.

Orlando City will try to sign Santiago Gimenez this summer, and are willing to spend up to 30 million euros to do so. They are also set to offer Gimenez a salary of 5 million per season. This would be more than he earns in Milan and enough to convince him on a move.
AC Milan could then re-invest this funds to bring in a new striker. Corriere Dello Sport is also reporting that Goncalo Ramos is the leading name to sign for Milan. This comes as PSG are willing to sell the Portuguese striker this summer and will want 40 million to do so.
However, the real problem for signing Goncalo Ramos is his salary. Ramos want to earn something close to his current 5 million euros per season. This is high for Milan, but it could be possible if Rafael Leao leaves this summer. But, even in the case of Leao’s departure Milan would be hesitant to pay him such a high salary.

Paulo Dybala contract renewal with Roma up in the air as another Serie A clubs monitors the situation
Paulo Dybala’s future was a topic of discussion for the majority of last season. This came as he had an expiring contract with AS Roma at the end of last season. For a while it looked like that there will be no renewal for Dybala, as the club looked to kick-off a younger project.
This was lead by Claudio Ranieri who was made the clubs sporting director, at the beginning of the season. However, he would be fired before its completion over a disagreement with manager, Gian Piero Gasperini. Raineiri’s dysmallsly saw Gasperini take charge of all transfer in Rome.

Gasperini had a differing view from Raineri and believed that the team didn’t need as drastic of changes, and could keep some of the older players. Paulo Dybala was one of these players, as he was set to leave the club under Raineri’s vision. However, extension talks restarted once Gasperini took the role instead.
Roma are now confident in completing the deal according to Il Tempo via RomaPress. Il Tempo call the deal a matter of time as Dybala’s extension with Roma has looked set in stone for a while. However, until the deal is confirmed there is always the possibility of him going elsewhere.
This is one the Giovanni Albanese is exploring via his youtube channel. He is reporting that Dybala could make a shock return to Juventus if a deal with Roma falls through. This comes as Dybala is only demanding a salary of three million euros per season, which the Bianconeri could easily match.
