Inter Milan had the chance to go six points clear yesterday at the top of the league. All they needed was for FC Como to defeat AC Milan, something that looked like it could happen early with Como breaking first. However, Milan scored three goals to win the game away.

A win for Como, would have made the title extremely likely for Inter. Especially with the quality in their squad, being arguably the best in the league. This quality took them to a Champions League final last season, and after they lost they 5-0 their then coach Simone Inzaghi stepped down.

Cristian Chivu then came into replace him and didn’t miss a beat at all. He has Inter first because the quality in this Inter squad manages to make his job easy. This is why Inter are aiming to keep their core group of players together, and they way to do this is contract extension.

Inter are aiming to get on these straight away, one of these that they have tried to finalise already is Federico Di Marco. (read more here). In that article it also discusses Hakan Calhanoglu and how he won’t resign for Inter at the moment, however there is conflicting reports.

These come from Nico Schira which state that Inter are preparing to open talks with Hakan with a contract that will run until 2028 with an option to keep him in Milan until 2029. The talks are still in the early days so its unknown if Hakan will resign if he has offers from other clubs.

This comes as Orazio Accomado as Turkish side Galatasaray are interested in signing a midfielder. They have been looking for a midfielder in January, as they have been in talks with Inter already for Davide Frattesi. Galatasaray are willing to spend up to 13 million euros for Hakan.

Something both parties could consider for Hakan as he nearly signed for them in the Summer. This was after a fallout with some of his teammates, mainly Lautaro Martinez. However, as the season closed they made up and Hakan stayed in Inter Milan,, and got ready for the next season. One of theo other ways Inter got ready for the next season was bringing in two young strikers.

One was by signing Ange-Yoan Bonny, to the side from Parma, the other was integrating Pio Esposito from Spezia. He has done well so far for Inter, well enough that he has earned a contract extension. This is why Nico Schira reports that Inter are offering Esposito a contract extension and a contract until 2031.

When Kalulu joined Juventus he was given a new contract until 2029, however the Bianconeri still want to offer him new terms. Currently, he earns 3 million per season for Juventus, this is only 16th highest in the squad. This has him behind Fillip Kostic, Teun Koopmeiners, Llyod Kelly and other player he is far more important than.

Juventus want to give Kalulu a pay-rise to show the value that he currently holds in Juventus’s squad. It is also to stop other teams from trying to sign Kalulu this summer. Manchester United and Liverpool have both considered making moves for Kalulu, however a pay rise could incetvise him to stay.

This is despite the fact that there is Premier League and Serie A clubs that are interested in Pellegrini. These clubs could likely give him a similar to higher wage to what he gets in Roma. Paulo Dybala could also be ready to take a pay cut to stay with Roma into next season according to Corriere Dello Sport. Dybala doesn’t have the same love for Roma as Pellegrini having spent most of his career with Juventus. However, he is intrigued by Gasperini’s project.

Dybala has enjoyed most of the time that he has spent in Gasperini’s system despite missing 18 games already this seen, a number that will increase as he has needed knee surgery. Dybala is hungry to stay in Rome and prove himself to Gasperini for the future.
