Roma have been on the search for a striker all summer, as attack will be the main focus of their window. Nicolo Tresoldi has already agreed personal terms to join Roma, but that deal is stalling. Roma are struggling to agree on terms with Club Brugge for a sale.

Roma are offering 35 million euros to sign Tresoldi, but Brugge hold firm on wanting 40 million. So the Giallorossi decided to bench that deal and look elsewhere first. Santiago Castro was one of the alternative names that they looked at, and he was open to joining Roma.

Castro’s willingness to join Roma helped them agree on personal terms with him quicker. The two have agreed on Castro joining Roma on a deal until 2031. Castro will see a rise in his pay for joining Roma taking him to earn 2.2 million euros per season in the capital.

These figures all come from a report from Nico Schira on X. Schira is also stating that Roma are also close to agreeing on a deal with Bologna. Bologna have demanded to 40 million euros to sell Castro, but Roma could manage to sign Castro for a fee of just 30 million.

Roma will add on 5 million euros in bonuses to help complete the deal. But, that isn’t all as Bologna will also hold a future sell-on clause for the deal. All these figures will allow Roma to spend only 30 million euros now and Bologna to earn up to 40 million or more on a sale of Castro,
