AC Milan are set to be one of the most active teams on the transfer market this summer as they look to build a Scudetto worthy team. The Rossoneri’s biggest gap comes in attack, where they will look to make major changes this summer. However, they also have other issues to solve.

Milan have struggled for defensive reinforcements this summer as they lack depth. This season the starting three of Strahinja Pavlovic, Matteo Gabbia and Fikayo Tomori being supported by Koni De Winter has been enough. However, next season Milan will be playing in Europe, meaning more games for Allegri’s men.

However, playing in Europe will also give Milan more to spend this summer in the transfer market. This could be used on a centre back and according to CalcioMercato.com it will be used to sign Mario Gila. Gila has been a target for AC Milan and they are now finally looking to complete a deal.

Milan wanted to sign Gila in January, but Lazio turned that down as they were selling other key players. The deal could now be complete in the summer, however Lazio are still hesitant to sell. But Milan have managed to come to an agreement with them for a deal worth around 25 million euros.

Gila won’t be the only name that Milan will sign in the summer as they will continue to try and strengthen in defence. However, they could decide to go younger as they are watching Victor Valdepenas from Real Madrid. However, Madrid are hesitant to sell so he could have to join on a deal with a buy back similar to Nico Paz at Como.

Marcus Rashford has been one of the most intriguing names in European football over the last couple years. His career looked dead in the water as his boy hood club Manchester United, wanted to get rid of him, and no teams wanted to sign him. However, FC Barcelona took a chance on him bringing him in on loan this season.

Rashford has shined for Barcelona proving his worth to European sides over this campaign. However, he will likely not stay at Barcelona as he is not needed with the wing depth of Lamine Yamal, Raphina and Ferran Torres playing for Barca. He is not wanted at United ever as they have turned their team around without him.

This will see Rashford put on the market as a summer for teams across Europe. According to CalcioMercatoIT Juventus could be one of the teams that reach out to Manchester United to try and sign Rashford. The Bianconeri could be in the market to sign attackers this summer.

Juventus will look to build a team for new coach Luciano Spalletti, next summer. Jeremie Boga has been a good addition to start,  but the future of Edon Zhegrova is still uncertain in Turin. Juventus could look for additions even if they keep Zhegrova which is why Rashford is a good option.

Rashford could be available for less than 30 million euros this summer, which is his buy out clause at Barcelona. This is cheap enough for Juventus to sign Rashford and make other signings.  However the main financial obstacle for Rashford joining Juventus as his salary is 11 million euros per season, where at Juventus, Rashford would likely get less than half of that.

Leon Goretzka has spent the last seven years at Bayern Munich, and now him and the club have agreed it is time to part ways. This will see Goretzka leave Bayern as a free agent this summer, which has enticed Serie A sides. Due, to government and cultural reasons Serie A sides see less in TV and Matchday revenue than other big European leagues.

This has seen Serie A teams rely on free agents in the past, Inter have been the most common with Marcus Thuram and many others shining for them. However, they are not the onlys as Napoli and AC Milan caught up on the action with Kevin De Bryune and Luka Modric last summer.

Goretzka could be another one of these big names as he could team up with Luka Modric next season according to Corriere Dello Sport. This comes as Milan have offered Goretzka a three year deal worth 5 million euros per season to see him come to Milan. Massimiliano Allegri was the name who suggested the move, as he wants Goretzka in a midfield with Rabiot and Modric.

However, the move still hangs in the balance as European football is a key factor. Firstly, Goretzka wants to play at the highest level next season so Champions League is a must. It will also be a key finical factor for AC Milan to be able to afford Goretzka wages and complete other signings.

Champions League is no certainty for AC Milan as of now as they only sit in third place. They have five points on fifth place Como but they have recently had a dip in form which has worried some fans, as they could lose a top four finish. If this where to happen, Inter Milan, Napoli and Juventus would all be ready to scoop up Goretzka as a free agent instead of Milan.
