Juventus close to agreeing a deal to sign Franck Kessie but will need to make sales first

Juventus are continuing to work in the transfer market as two clear priorities remain. A goalkeeper, and a centre-back are the clear needs for the Bianconeri as they are hopeful in the transfer market. Zion Suzuki on loan and Jhon Lucumi remain the preferred targets, but talks for them are progressing slowly.

Despite these clear targets Juventus are also continuing their negotiations on other fronts, including talks with Franck Kessie. Kessie is now a free agent after his contract expired at Al Ahli after last season. He has made it clear he won’t resign with Al Ahli as he wants to play in Europe next season.

Juventus could be the team to give him that possibility, as they remain in contact with Kessie over a possible signing. Tuttosport are now reporting that Juventus are close to agreeing on all figures with Kessie. This will be a total agreement regarding salary, signing bonuses, and agent fees.

Normally, this would see a deal all but complete however Juventus face a problem. To sign Kessie they will need to sell another midfielder to complete the deal. Tuttosport are reporting that Fabio Miretti could be the player sacrificed by Juventus to make room for Kessie.

Miretti could leave Juventus to facilitate a swap deal for Jhon Lucumi. Bologna have shown previous interest in Miretti and could drop their 25 million euro demand for Lucumi if Miretti is included in a deal. However, Nico Schira is reporting that Lazio are also interested in Miretti which would allow Juventus to generate 15 million euros from his sale, which would be enough to sign Kessie.
