FC Barcelona considering signing two Serie A players this summer

Alessandro Bastoni has been under considerable pressure over the last few months, ever since the Derby D’Italia in February. He took a dive which saw Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu sent off. If he had of being booked for simulation he would have been sent off instead the result of the game likely would’ve gone the other way.

Bastoni was booed for most of his Serie A matches after that until he got the national team for World Cup playoffs at the end of March. However, things only got worse with Bastoni being sent off in the final against Bosnia in a match the Azzurri lost on penalties. This then lead to the firing of both Gabriele Gravina and Gennaro Gattuso because of the failure.

Bastoni was bought off to a standing ovation against Roma from the Nerazzurri two weeks ago. However, he still struggled against FC Como this weekend being bought off at halftime. But, the pressures of Italian football could see Bastoni seek a move according to Gazzetta Dello Sport (Via FCInterNewsIT).

This could lead to him preferring a move to join FC Barcelona rather than staying with Inter Milan despite recent rumours. However, these talks won’t start until the summer, putting the deal on hold. However, Barcelona are still working now as they weigh up a move for Andrea Cambiaso.

This comes from a report from Dario Pellegrini on X who is reporting that Barcelona are preparing a bid for Cambiaso. Barcelona are working through intermediaries to try and find a suitable offer to Juventus. This could be difficult as Luciano Spalletti who will stay on as Juventus coach likes Cambiaso, but he could still be up for sale for the right price.
