Done Deal: Mike Maignan set to extend his contract with AC Milan until 2031
AC Milan, underwent a rapid overhaul in the summer, replacing most of the players in their starting eleven. This was due to the side having an average eleven, finishing ninth the season before. This came as they had found what they believe to be their manager for the future, Massimiliano Allegri.
This overhaul has been successful for the Rossoneri, thanks to some new signings especially in midfield. But, most of the improvement from Milan this season has been from the players they kept. Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic, and Mike Maignan have been in the three leaders to step up for Milan this season.
Mike Maignan has only conceded 17 goals this season, as his defence improves his form has as well. This has lead to him to being rewarded with a contract extension. Maignan managed to turn the form around enough where Milan, will make the move to extend his contract.
This comes from reports from Fabrizio Romano via his youtube channel in Italian. Maignan has agreed the deal with Milan, all that is left is him signing the paper. Maignan is set to sign a deal which will keep him in Milan until the end of the 2030/31 season.
This will keep him in Milan, until he is 35-years-old. While this is old for outfield players, for goalkeepers they don’t take the same physical toll. Maignan could play at a high level up until the age of 35 if not longer. He will also earn a reasonable middle ground in salary for both parties.
Milan and Maignan looked to have huge differences over wages, which led to him being linked to other clubs. Bayern Munich and Juventus where the team he where closest to, but he will stay in Milan. Maignan is set to earn 5 million euros per season, with an additional two in bonuses.

AS Roma closing in on a deal to keep Paulo Dybala for one more season
Paulo Dybala looked certain to leave Roma after this season during most of this campaign. Rumors started from before the season began that he was set to make a move to Boca Juniors to finally return to Argentina after this season. However, Paulo still pushed through his injury issues to perform for Roma.
Missing 16 games during the course of this league season, seemed enough for Claudio Ranieri to force him out of the club. Especially as he looked to build a younger project that could take Roma into the future. But, Raineri would not be given the chance to do this however.

Ranieri would have a public falling out with Gian Piero Gasperini, which led to Raineri stepping down on the 24th of April. This saw Gasperini fill in at his role as a senior advisor to the board. This allowed Gasperini to be a team more ready to win now together, instead of something younger.
Dybala, is part of this win now team in Gasperini eyes as he wants to bring Roma back to their Scudetto glories of 2001. This has lead to talks of Dybala signing a deal for one more season with Roma. Gazzetta Dello Sport is now reporting that it will become a reality. Mainly off the back of the La Roya’s relationship with Gasperini.

Dybala will sign only a one year deal with Roma, while his long term future is still undecided. He will be forced to take reduced wages however, dropping his salary to 2 to 2.5 million euros per season. This comes as Dybala is hungry to stay in Rome and work with Gasperini.

Juventus set to offer another key player a contract extension after Manuel Locatelli
Juventus finally managed to finalise the contract extension for Manuel Locatelli until 2030. This comes as Juventus are looking to keep some of Luciano Spalletti’s key players before looking for new names this summer. Kenan Yildiz was another example of this as Juventus locked him down earlier in the season.
Juventus will now get to keep more of Juventus’s key players, and according to Nico Schira there are more names ready. Pierre Kalulu will be the next name that Juventus will give a contract extension to before the end of this season. Kalulu was signed at the start of last season from AC Milan.

When Kalulu joined Juventus he was given a new contract until 2029, however the Bianconeri still want to offer him new terms. Currently, he earns 3 million per season for Juventus, this is only 16th highest in the squad. This has him behind Fillip Kostic, Teun Koopmeiners, Llyod Kelly and other player he is far more important than.
Juventus want to give Kalulu a pay-rise to show the value that he currently holds in Juventus’s squad. It is also to stop other teams from trying to sign Kalulu this summer. Manchester United and Liverpool have both considered making moves for Kalulu, however a pay rise could incetvise him to stay.

AS Roma set to backflip and offer two midfielders a contract extensions
AS Roma have been the most in the news Italian team over the last few weeks, as the ownership and club board are falling out. It seems that more meetings are set for the future, but still nothing is decided yet for who will stay and go. This has lead to Gian Piero Gasperini and Claudio Ranieri trying to take more power over the club’s future.

The first way they will do this is through extending the contract of Lorenzo Pellegrini who looked destined to leave Roma. Talks have now resumed according to Nico Schira as Pellegrini is ready to take a pay cut to stay with the club. Pellegrini has played for Roma his entire career and his love for Roma sees him pushing to stay.
This is despite the fact that there is Premier League and Serie A clubs that are interested in Pellegrini. These clubs could likely give him a similar to higher wage to what he gets in Roma. But it is never about money for Pellegrini as he wants to be a Gialorossi legend like Daniele De Rossi and Francesco Totti.

Paulo Dybala could also be ready to take a pay cut to stay with Roma into next season according to Corriere Dello Sport. Dybala doesn’t have the same love for Roma as Pellegrini having spent most of his career with Juventus. However, he is intrigued by Gasperini’s project.
Dybala has enjoyed most of the time that he has spent in Gasperini’s system despite missing 18 games already this seen, a number that will increase as he has needed knee surgery. Dybala is hungry to stay in Rome and prove himself to Gasperini for the future. Dybala idea of staying is helped by little intriguing options for him this summer, expect for Boca Juniors which would be a return home he isn’t ready to make.
