AS Roma are trying to get to the next level with their current squad and finally win a Scudetto title. This season looked to be their best chance in recent history. This was looked to be helped by the appointment of Gian Piero Gasperini a very experienced Serie A coach.

However, this side are sitting ten points off first, mainly due to the lack of a inform striker. This is despite, Roma signing Evan Ferguson on loan from Brighton in the summer. But Ferguson might not even see his loan out as Roma due to his poor form in Serie A.

Even if he is to leave Roma, he likely won’t return to Brighton as he has multipule clubs interested in him. This comes from a report from Nico Schira which states that, Napoli, Bologna, Real Betis and Celtic are all interested in bringing in Ferguson which could lead to him leaving the capital.

Meanwhile, Roma are closing in on keeping one of their midfielders in Lorenzo Pellegrini. He has been there since 2014, only spending two years on loan. According to Nico Schira the two parties have opened up talks to sign a contract until 2029, however for the deal to work out Pellegrini will have to take a pay cut.

However, Roma won’t look for a contract extension with one of their attacking midfielders. It looks like that Paulo Dybala time in the capital will end after this season. He joined the Gillanorossi in 2022, after leaving Juventus on a free transfer, and now he will likely leave Roma on a free transfer.

This is due to Roma not offering a contract extension according to Nico Schira. His current deal expires at the end of this season, meaning Dybala will likely have to look for a new club. He has been linked to a move back to Brazil with Boca Juniors but nothing is concrete.

When Kalulu joined Juventus he was given a new contract until 2029, however the Bianconeri still want to offer him new terms. Currently, he earns 3 million per season for Juventus, this is only 16th highest in the squad. This has him behind Fillip Kostic, Teun Koopmeiners, Llyod Kelly and other player he is far more important than.

Juventus want to give Kalulu a pay-rise to show the value that he currently holds in Juventus’s squad. It is also to stop other teams from trying to sign Kalulu this summer. Manchester United and Liverpool have both considered making moves for Kalulu, however a pay rise could incetvise him to stay.

The first way they will do this is through extending the contract of Lorenzo Pellegrini who looked destined to leave Roma. Talks have now resumed according to Nico Schira as Pellegrini is ready to take a pay cut to stay with the club. Pellegrini has played for Roma his entire career and his love for Roma sees him pushing to stay.

This is despite the fact that there is Premier League and Serie A clubs that are interested in Pellegrini. These clubs could likely give him a similar to higher wage to what he gets in Roma. But it is never about money for Pellegrini as he wants to be a Gialorossi legend like Daniele De Rossi and Francesco Totti.

Paulo Dybala could also be ready to take a pay cut to stay with Roma into next season according to Corriere Dello Sport. Dybala doesn’t have the same love for Roma as Pellegrini having spent most of his career with Juventus. However, he is intrigued by Gasperini’s project.

Dybala has enjoyed most of the time that he has spent in Gasperini’s system despite missing 18 games already this seen, a number that will increase as he has needed knee surgery. Dybala is hungry to stay in Rome and prove himself to Gasperini for the future. Dybala idea of staying is helped by little intriguing options for him this summer, expect for Boca Juniors which would be a return home he isn’t ready to make.
