Two Serie A teams circling around German midfielder for Janurary
In a months time that transfer market will re-open as teams all over the world look to bolster up their squads. This will be done to bolster up squads and fill holes in teams challenging for domestic and european success. This is extremely true for serie a sides as this years title race looks to be one of the closest in history.
This will see all of the tops sides be aggressive in the transfer market especially reigning champions Napoli. The reigning champions have had a strong campaign so far, sitting in third. However, they faced one big issue last seasons team didn’t, the injury bug.
Napoli’s title defence started off in bad shape losing star striker Romelu Lukaku in pre-season. He was set to miss three months, however Napoli where able to sign both Lorenzo Lucca and Rasmus Hojlund to replace him. But, they couldn’t plan for the midfield injuries as they happened during the season.
Both Kevin De Bruyne, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Billy Gilmour going down. This was all while Stanislav Lobotka was still recovering from his inury woes from before this season. This left coach Antonio Conte scrambling for answers for his squad, but now they have accepted they will have to go into the market this January.

Now Tuttomercatoweb reports that they could try and sign 30-year-old Leon Goretzka. The Bayern midfielder is slowly being phased of the midfield. This is being done as a conscious effort for Vincent Kompany to play younger midfielders like Aleksandar Pavlovic.
Juventus could also be an option for Goretzka in January. Juventus are currently are on the outside looking in on this title race, but their season isn’t quite over. Signing Goretzka and a strong defender in January would be a statement on intent and rejuvenate the squad for the rest of the season.
