Roma’s biggest need is still a new left footed attacker, to join their side at the request of Gian Piero Gaspeirni. The new sporting director Tony D’Amico has been working tirelessly to try and make this a reality, basing himself out of London. Recently, he was in talks with RB Lepizig to try and sign Antonio Nusa.

However, that deal has been put on hold by Roma, as Leipzig demands are too highs. The Giallorossi remain in talks with Lyon to try and sign Malick Fofana, but have recently been told by Real Madrid they won’t be able to sign Endrick. Roma wanted to sign Endrick on a dry loan from Real Madrid, but according to Michele De Blasis, Madrid has said no to the deal.

Roma could now resume contacts with Arsenal to try and sign Gabriel Martinelli. This comes from a report from Corriere Dello Sport which outlays Martinelli as a new target for Roma because he only has one year left on his contract. Martinelli is an attractive prospect because of this, as Arsenal could allow him to leave for 40-45 million euros.

While this is a hefty transfer fee, will likely be manageable by Roma because it is one their one major need. But, another issue arises with the deal is Martinelli’s current salary with Arsenal is 11 million euros per season. Roma will only be able to go up to nine million euros per season if Martinelli, a hard cap set by the Fredkin ownership group.
