AS Roma looking to extend the contract of midfielder with two players likely on their way out
AS Roma are trying to get to the next level with their current squad and finally win a Scudetto title. This season looked to be their best chance in recent history. This was looked to be helped by the appointment of Gian Piero Gasperini a very experienced Serie A coach.
However, this side are sitting ten points off first, mainly due to the lack of a inform striker. This is despite, Roma signing Evan Ferguson on loan from Brighton in the summer. But Ferguson might not even see his loan out as Roma due to his poor form in Serie A.
Even if he is to leave Roma, he likely won’t return to Brighton as he has multipule clubs interested in him. This comes from a report from Nico Schira which states that, Napoli, Bologna, Real Betis and Celtic are all interested in bringing in Ferguson which could lead to him leaving the capital.
Meanwhile, Roma are closing in on keeping one of their midfielders in Lorenzo Pellegrini. He has been there since 2014, only spending two years on loan. According to Nico Schira the two parties have opened up talks to sign a contract until 2029, however for the deal to work out Pellegrini will have to take a pay cut.

However, Roma won’t look for a contract extension with one of their attacking midfielders. It looks like that Paulo Dybala time in the capital will end after this season. He joined the Gillanorossi in 2022, after leaving Juventus on a free transfer, and now he will likely leave Roma on a free transfer.
This is due to Roma not offering a contract extension according to Nico Schira. His current deal expires at the end of this season, meaning Dybala will likely have to look for a new club. He has been linked to a move back to Brazil with Boca Juniors but nothing is concrete.
