Napoli managed to win the Scudetto last season, after a large change in their team from their third in 2022. The changes they made was mainly in attack. This was because they had sold both Victor Osimhen and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia this led to the need for an attacking rebuild in Naples.

Napoli made signings last season to change the team, mainly Romelu Lukaku. They didn’t invest as much as they should have because Napoli knew they could score from midfield. However, they didn’t want to rely on that season so they went to the transfer market signing, Rasmus Hojlund, Lorenzo Lucca, and Noa Lang.

But for Napoli the only one that has really worked out so far is Rasmus Hojlund, so this could lead to the other two leaving. This is due to their poor form in Napoli’s system so far. Lucca has spent most of the season stuck on the sideline as Hojlund has been in career best form since leaving Manchester United.

With Lukaku set to come back from injury in the next few weeks, this has left Lucca without a place in Naples which is why he has been linked with leaving. Pisa and Nottingham Forrest where battling over bringing in Lucca on loan, however a favourtie has appeared according to Fabrizio Romano.

Forrest and Napoli have agreed a deal for a loan to buy deal with a loan fee of one million euros. However, the buy option is 35 million for Forrest. They have also agreed to cover the most wages of any club which is making the deal better for Napoli, however Lorenzo Lucca will have the final say for where he is to go.

Meanwhile Noa Lang, is also finalizing a deal to leave Naples, as he is set to move to Galatasaray. Lang has agreed a four year contract with Galatasaray which will net him 4 million euros per season according to Nico Schira. Meanwhile according to Orazio Accomando, Napoli has agreed terms with Galatasaray on a loan to buy, the loan fee will be 3 million euros and the buy option being 24 million euros.

This will be especially true in attack with the departure of Rafael Leao, and the need for a clinical nine shaking up the entire team.

The departure of Leao will lead to more spotlight coming on Christian Pulisic. Leao leaving will likely see him promoted to the leader of the attack. Pulisic was close to a deal to stay with Milan until 2030, but this fell through with both parties. Milan could be forced to pay Pulisic with Leao gone or else he could consider a move elsewhere. This is especially true with Gazzetta Dello Sport reporting that Pulisic could get a higher salary elsewhere.

MLS side, New York City FC have opened contacts with Pulisic’s agents on a deal that would take him back to his home country. This comes as it is a very attractive offer for Pulisic, salary wise as it will be higher than Milan. It would also bring him back closer to home with his family.

However, AC Milan aren’t open to selling Pulisic this summer. Both, Gerry Cardinale and Ruben Amorim both consider Pulisic as a key part as the project that they are building for the future. This could lead them to up his salary to 7 million euros per season especially if Leao is to leave Milan this summer.

Negotiations have fallen through between the two clubs, with a swap deal being a cold prospect. But, Inter Milan missing out on Marco Palestra could allow for the deal to be back open. Juventus has been open to selling him this summer, but Inter will have to compete with foreign clubs.

Alternative options

There is still deals that Inter could make, which wouldn’t see Frattesi involved in a swap deal. Brooke Norton-Cuffy is a target name for Inter, as they made attempts to sign him in January. That deal fell through similar to Jones but could happen again now that summer is here.

Dodo from Fiorentina is still an option for Inter Milan, but a deal for him looking unlikely. He is already being followed with Roma and Napoli who would compete with Inter for a deal. The signing of Dodo would also see Inter change their tactics somehow, which they won’t want to do coming off a domestic double.
