Juventus in recent times have had historic troubles with player contracts and extending them. This started in Federico Chiesa when they couldn’t find a term for the deal the season before it expired. This led to him being sold to Liverpool for only 13 million euros, a ridiculously low fee for a player of his caliber.

Next was Dusan Vlahovic, Juventus tried to get to his deal earlier, working on his dealer during the season before it expired. However, Juventus still couldn’t get a deal done for Vlahovic. This left them in the same situation as they where with Chiesa. But, instead of selling him Juventus decided to keep Vlahovic and agree to work on a deal together.

Now, they find themselves in the same scenario but with a midfielder not an attacker. This is to reports by Nico Schria via X are too be believed. These state that Juventus will likely part ways with American midfielder, Weston Mckennie at the end of this season.

This is due to the two parties not being able to agree on a deal which is suitable for both. Mckennie would be a big loss for Juventus, despite not being the top quality he is extremely versatile. He has been known to play as a inside and outside midfielder, and as a full back.

This could mean that Juventus will have to sign multiple players if he is to leave to fill in his roles. He is also one of Juventus, more athletically gifted players, tracking hard on both sides on the ball due to his aerobic capacity. So while he will big loss for Juventus he is definitely replaceable.

This is why, Juventus have considered selling him before. Reports state that MLS teams and other Serie A clubs both two appealing moves for Mckennie. A move to the MLS could mean less pay would also mean he is back at his home country, and closer to all his family.

A move to the another Serie A team where he could have more minutes is also appealing for Mckennie as he already knows the league well enough to adapt straight away. These will likely be the teams that come after him as a free agent if he dosen’t agree a new contract with Juventus as well.
