Atalanta where significantly weakened this season, as they lost head coach Gian Piero Gasperini. Gasperini was widely regarded as one of the best head coaches in Serie A. He made a move to join AS Roma, and team up with Claudio Ranieri for a new project. This left the club weakend and then star attacker Ademola Lookman was looking for a move away from the club as well.

However, the club recovered as it was decided that Lookman would stay at the club. Then they looked to hire a new coach and get ready to reshape the team. Ivan Juric was the name bought in to steady the ship and build a strong team to contend for Champions League or more.

But. the team started off very poorly, and now Juric is under pressure. This came to a head to when in Atalanta’s loss against Sassuolo. Star player Ademola Lookman was subbed off and then ignored Juric and was visibly annoyed as he headed to the bench.

Atalanta loss to Sassuolo was reportedly the last straw according to most reports and Juric is set to be fired. Fabrizio Romano reports that he is set to be fired from the side. This was after his poor form with AS Roma last season which saw him fired early in the last campaign.

Atalanta are now looking to bounce back and hopefully save their season. This could be helped by the fact that it is now international break giving them more time to do so. However, they could already have a name down with Rafaelle Palladino linked to the job already.

Kenan Yildiz has been, one of Juventus best players in recent history, emerging in January of 2023 under Max Allegri. He came off the bench for his first few starts, but ever since then he has been. impossible to bench. He has been Juventus’s most important attacking threat ever since.

Now however his future is under some uncertainty. This as he is negotiating with the club for a new contract, but according to Gazzetta Dello Sport the talks aren’t going well. This has led to the club and Yildiz’s entourage deciding to pause talks for now and pick them up later in the season.

The club was close to signing a deal with Yildiz that would keep him in Turin until 2030, but the financial terms weren’t met. This is why the deal broke down, as the two clubs couldn;’t find a compromise. Right now Yildiz earns 1.7 million euros per season and he is looking to up that.

Yildiz is looking to earn 6 million euros per season. This would put him on par with new signing Jonathan David, but would still be less than Dusan Vlahovic at 12 million per season. Juventus could be forced to match this payment reluctantly, as other clubs could be interested in signing Yildiz.

Last summer, Chelsea made a bid of 67 million euros to sign Yildiz which Juventus turned down. However, there are now more teams who could look to bring Yildiz in. Real Madrid have also been interested in Yildiz looking to replace Vinicius Junior who could lead this summer. Bayern Munich are also interested being his former club in youth days.

This Serie A season has been nothing short of thrilling, with the top six sides separated by just five points after eleven rounds. From Inter’s dominance to Bologna’s surprise rise, Italy’s top flight has delivered drama, quality, and unpredictability in every matchweek.

Inter and Roma Lead the Way

At the summit, Inter and Roma are neck-and-neck on 24 points, both with eight wins, no draws, and three defeats. Inter have been clinical in attack, scoring 26 goals, the most in the league, while Roma’s impressive defensive structure and efficient finishing have kept them right on their tail. Both clubs have stumbled at times, but their ability to bounce back has defined their campaigns so far.

Milan and Napoli Close Behind

Just two points off the top are Milan and Napoli, both sitting on 22 points. Milan’s season has been marked by consistency, with only one defeat, but too many draws have cost them the top spot. Napoli, meanwhile, have been dynamic and dangerous in attack, though occasional lapses, like their recent loss, have kept them from pulling ahead. Still, both sides remain serious contenders in what’s shaping up to be one of the tightest title races in recent years.

Bologna’s Breakout Season

Perhaps the most surprising name in the top five is Bologna. With 21 points, Thiago Motta’s former club (or his successor’s project) continues to impress through tactical discipline and strong home form. Their six wins and three draws show they’re not just punching above their weight; they’re here to compete.

Juventus Lurking in Sixth

Just below them, Juventus sits on 19 points, still within striking distance. Despite their attacking struggles, only 14 goals scored, the Bianconeri remain hard to beat and could climb quickly with a few strong results. Their experience and defensive organization make them a dangerous threat to the teams above.

A League of Fine Margins

With only five points separating first from sixth, every fixture feels like a mini-final. The intensity of the league has reached new heights, with every side capable of taking points off anyone. Inter’s attack, Roma’s resilience, Milan’s control, Napoli’s flair, Bologna’s surprise factor, and Juventus’ grit all add up to a Serie A season that promises fireworks until the very end.

As winter approaches, one thing is clear: the Scudetto race is wide open, and no one is safe at the top.
