Before the start of this season, AS Roma made a big move by appointing Gian Piero Gasperini as head coach. Gasperini was a big scalp fro Roma, after his tenure which saw Atalanta push towards European football consistently. This came as Juventus and Milan where both also chasing Gasp.

It was a statement of intent signing for Roma, however their mercato failed to back it up. Wesley Franca was a good signing as a wing back, however Roma needed a player for the left channel rather than the right, which has forced him to play out of position. But Roma biggest miss was not signing a proper striker during the summer.

Artem Dovbyk was already in the capital before Gasperini joined however, Gasp wasn’t a fan of his playstyle. Gasperini pushed for a striker all summer, but all Roma only managed to sign Evan Ferguson on loan. But, he was sent back only six months into his loan. However, the signing of Donyell Malen in January rectified the mistakes they made in January.

Malen will stay with Roma past this season to help Roma’s project in attack. However, it won’t be enough for Roma in the attack, as Gasperini is pushing for another name. Now, according to Tuttosport via RomaPress the name that is being scouted is Andrea Pinamonti.

Gasperini has been a fan of Pinamonti over the last few seasons, even requesting Atalanta to sign him before he left. This has lead to Roma beginning  to scout Pinamonti over this season, to see if he can fit in for the Giallorossi for next season. Pinamonti has scored eight goals over 29 league games during this season.

Luciano Spalletti finally put pen to paper on a contract extension with Juventus until 2028 this week. The Bianconeri will now look to build a new side for Spalletti, as Juventus look to get back on top in Serie A. Juventus will likely be forced to make multiple signings if they truly want to compete next season.

However, all these signings come at a high cost which is why it is key Juventus qualify for the Champions League. Yesterday’s win against Atalanta was a step in the right direction, moving Juventus up to fourth. But, there is still six more games left to play so nothing is guaranteed for the Bianconeri.

This is why Juventus are still looking for ways to minimise the potential costs of their signings. The most popular way so far would be the signing of free agents. Juventus have been linked to multiple this season, with Bernardo Silva and Leon Goretzka being the most popular names.

However, now according to Matteo Moretto on youtube, Juventus are out of the race to sign a key free agent. Marcos Senesi will now likely stay in the Premier League instead of making a move to join Juventus according to Moretto. The money the Premier League sides are offering Senesi is simply too much for Juventus to match this summer.

This will be a large blow for Juventus as he was the only free agent centre-back the Bianconeri were linked too. Juventus will now have to look elsewhere if they are hardest on signing a centre back in this summer’s mercato. However, Juventus could instead decide to fill more noticeable needs, to save financial resources instead.

Inter Milan are set to go under a major revolution in the summer as they look to build a more Chivu centric team. Chivu should manage to take this Nerazzurri side to the Scudetto as they lead by seven points with seven games left. However, Inter did struggle in Europe as they were embarrassed by Bodo Glimt in the Round of 32.

The midfield will be undergo big changes in the summer, as they have been known to follow Manu Kone for most of this season. Inter will likely lose some of their older midfielders, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hakan Calhanoglu being the main talking points. But most of there changes will likely come in central defence.

Inter will allow Francesco Acerbi and Stefan De Vrij leave the side as free agents after this season. This has been most of the reporting that has come from sources close to the club for most of the season. But, Acerbi was strong last weekend against Inter Milan and this could lead Inter to keeping him.

However, even in the slight chance that Acerbi stays, Inter will still need to sign another centre back. Matteo Moretto is now reporting that Inter are closing in on signing Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo. This comes as Inter have managed to come to an agreement with Muharemovic.

Muharemovic has been a key target for Inter over the recent months, as Inter is his favourite option out of all the possible teams he could land at. However, Juventus hold a 50% sell on clause for any deal for Muharemovic, this could end up with them signing him over Inter for cheaper.
