AC Milan aim to extend the contract of two current players.
AC Milan have had one of the strongest squads in Serie A this season as they look to challenge to win the Scudetto this season. It isn’t just that they have quality in their squad which they have plenty of, but they are also outperforming expectations. This is due to new head coach Massimiliano Allegri motivating the team to reach glory this season.
Milan also have other benefits due to last seasons poor results, they aren’t playing any European football. This means that their playing eight less games then all of the other teams challenging for the league title. This has benefited the enitre squad but it helps a singular player out more, Luka Modric.
Due to his older age, Modric has lower stamina then the rest of Milans squad, however you wouldn’t know it. He has been one of their most reliable players this season, as it is clear he still has his class. He joined Milan this summer on a one-year deal, but AC Milan could already be looking to extend it.
This comes from a report in yesterday Corriere Dello Sport via MilanPost on X. Allegri has praised Modric in his press conferences in the build-up to Milan hosting Genoa today. Allegri was quoted saying “Modrić? It’s not just about technique, but about his love for football and the humility he has. When he misplaces a pass, he gets angry with himself and apologizes this is a great example for young players, because it shows how much passion is required. Right now it’s difficult because there are so many distractions, which is why it’s important to have players like him”

Modric, isn’t the only player who has impressed Allegri enough for a contract extension, Fikayo Tomori has done the same. Tomori was wanted out of the club by most fans with his performances last season, but the hiring of Allegri has turned the defence into a systematic machine which has benefited Tomori immensely.
Nico Schira reports that Tomori is only one step away from agreeing a contract extension with AC Milan. This is big as Tomori has turned down multiple offers from sides in the Premier League with Milan, clearly showing the faith he has in this coaching staff to be successful at Milan.

Marco Carnesecchi set to extend with Atalanta despite rivarled interest
Atalanta pulled of a magical comeback, on Wednesday against Borussia Dortmund. A 2-0 loss in Dortmund gave them little chance of advancing but they managed to pull it off. It wasn’t without drama however, as Lazar Samardzic won the tie for Atalanta in the 98th minute from a spot kick.
This is even more impressive considering that Atalanta lost two of their best players from last season. Matteo Retegui left Atalanta last summer to join Al Qadsiah. Then in January, Ademola Lookman left to join Atletico Madrid, after being unhappy with the club.
These huge losses now represent what Atalanta is becoming as a club. Large sales are now apart of their reputation, with them bringing out young players to sell for profit. It is hard to see this changing as well as both Ederson and Marco Carnesecchi could be sold this summer in similar fashion.

However, recent reports from Matteo Moretto state that the opposite could happen for Marco Carnesecchi, with him instead choosing to stay with Atalanta. Carnesecchi will renew his contract with the intention of staying in Bergamo for his future. Ederson however, could still be on his way out of the door.
Carnesecchi staying with Atalanta, could have massive ramifications within Serie A. Juventus were preparing to make a serious attempt to sign him this summer. This comes as they aim to replace Michele Di Gregorio this summer, and could now look to Guglielmo Vicario.
This would then put them into direction competition with Inter Milan, as they look for a new goalkeeper. If Inter miss out on Vicario because of Juventus they could make a big move to sign Mile Svilar. Roma are open to selling Svilar having Elia Caprile from Cagliari ready as a replacement.
