Sandro Tonali set to join Tottenham Hotspurs from Newcastle United
Sandro Tonali is one of the Azzurri’s most talented players currently, being a key figure for the national team. Tonali has been a lock in the middle of the national team. Even providing goals when he scored in Italy’s, 2-0 win against Northern Ireland in the World Cup playoffs.
However, Tonali plays his domestic football outside of Italy a rare thing for an Italian player. Tonali instead plays for Newcastle United, in England where he was sold by AC Milan after the 2022/23 season. Newcastle had a poor season this campaign as they only managed to finish 12th.

This has left for many players looking to leave the club for greener pastures. Tonali is included in this, with rumours circulating that he could move to Manchester City, Manchester United or Arsenal this summer. However, Nico Schira is now reporting that Tonali has now agreed on a move to join Tottenham Hotspurs.
Tottenham only finished 17th in the Premier League last season, and see this campaign as a chance to rebuild. This come as Roberto Di Zerbi has been hired to lead the team to do so. The Italian manager was pushing heavily for his countryman to join Spurs to help rebuild the team.
This lead Tottenham to invest heavily into signing Tonali spending a transfer fee of 116 million euros to sign Tonali this summer. The 116 million transfer fee will shatter the record for most expensive Italian ever a full 64 million more than Buffon’s transfer from Juventus to Parma. Tonali has also agreed a personal contract with Tottenham until 2032, worth 12 million euros per season.

AC Milan see Virgil Van Djik as dream centre-back signing this summer, but he is not a realistic target
AC Milan are set to look to rebuild this summer, as they missed out on Champions League football last campaign finishing fifth. This rebuild is set to be lead by owner Gerry Cardinale and sporting director Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who want to be ambitious this summer.
They have already been ambitious with the hiring of Ruben Amorim, and the 70 million euro signing of Goncalo Ramos. However, they want to continue to be as Ibrahimovic has set his sights on Virgil Van Djik. This comes from a report from Luca Bianchin and Gazzetta Dello Sport.

Van Djik currently only has one year left on his contract with Liverpool. This means that the merseyside club could be open to selling him this summer. Cardinale and his ownership group redbird are currently looking into if the move is possible. However that won’t be the biggest issue for Milan.
Van Djiks salary will likely cause Milan problems, as it is unknown if he is willing for a move to Milan. Currently, Van Djik earns 21 million euros per season according to capology. He would have to signfigantly reduce this if wage to join Milan, if he is even open to a move.
This is why Goncalo Inacio remains a more realistic option for Milan to sign this summer. He has already played for Ruben Amorim before which will motivate ownership to sign him, similar to Goncalo Ramos. Luca Cerchione is reporting that his release clause is only 45-50 million euros, which Milan could pay if they are serious for Inacio.

This lead them to Mattia Liberali who was having a break-out season at Catarzano in Serie B. Liberali managed to breakout after leaving AC Milan after being forced out of the club, by ownership. However, Milan then wanted to sign him back after his star season.
The charge was led by Ruben Amorim who wasn’t at AC Milan when he was sold. Amorim learnt of Milan’s 50% sell-on clause which also motivated him to lead a charge for Liberali. However, he had already made an agreement in principle with Como to sign for Como. This lead to Milan and Como both frantically meeting with Liberali and Catarznao today to try and complete a deal.
Liberali valued a guaranteed role, for whoever he signed for as he wanted to be treated like a first team player. Nico Paz to stay with Como for next season as Como agree terms with Real Madrid
FC Como had arguably the clubs best ever campaign last season as they managed to finish fourth. This fourth place finish has given fans of the lakeside club great hopes for the future. But there was one looming question over Como’s future, if they will be able to keep Nico Paz.
Nico Paz was easily, Como’s best player last season as he contributed 12 goals and six assists in the league. Como signed Paz at the beginning of the 2024/25 season on a deal worth 6 million euros. However, this deal came gave Real Madrid an 8 million buy back clause which is why they were open to selling him cheaply.

Real Madrid looked set to trigger his eight million euro buy back clause and sell him on. Paz was easily worth 10 times his sign on clause so doing so was a no brainer. Madrid met with Como yesterday to discuss this, however the gave them the option to sign Paz for cheaper.
Real Madrid offered Como a deal to sign him for 60 million euros, roughly 20 million less than what he is worth. Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Como have decided to take this deal and keep him for next season. But, this deal will keep a buy-back clause for next season.
This buy-back clause will be worth, 80 million euros similar to Nico Paz’s market value. This is a deal that makes sense for both teams as Paz wanted to stay in Como for next season, and Real Madrid wasn’t ready to play him. Especially, since he wasn’t in Jose Mourinho’s vision for the current team.
