AS Roma currently sit in a hard place financially as they need to make up 50 million euros in FFP in the coming days. This is despite the fact they managed to qualify for Champions League. They did this for the first-time since the 2018-19 season, providing the club a large financial boost.

However, it won’t be enough for Roma and they will now be forced to sell players. Manu Kone seems to be top of that list for the Giallorossi as he holds high value amongst other European clubs. This comes as Corriere Dello Sport is reporting that Atletico Madrid have expressed interest in signing Kone.

Roma are being forced into at least considering any bid due to their need to make capital gains. But, it is still unknown if Atletico have made a good enough bid to convince, Kone. Kone personally would rather join PSG or make a move to the Premier League this summer.

Gian Piero Gasperini is also hesitant to sell Kone as he considers him a key player, but understands sales need to be made. Atletico are set to make Roma an offer between 40-45 million euros soon to convince them. However, Atleti’s efforts could be futile according to TEAMtalk.

TEAMtalk reports that Manu Kone has already given his yes to joining Arsenal next season. This comes as the gunners are looking to boost their squad to defend their Premier League title. They also believe that Kone valuation is 50 million euros compared to the 40-45, Atleti will offer.

This will be enough to cover all of the capital gains that Roma needs to make for next season. It is also an valuation that Arsenal will be able to match this summer, if they are serious on a move for Kone. On a personal level it would fulfill Kone’s desire to play in the Premier League.

FC Como had arguably the clubs best ever campaign last season as they managed to finish fourth. This fourth place finish has given fans of the lakeside club great hopes for the future. But there was one looming question over Como’s future, if they will be able to keep Nico Paz.

Nico Paz was easily, Como’s best player last season as he contributed 12 goals and six assists in the league. Como signed Paz at the beginning of the 2024/25 season on a deal worth 6 million euros. However, this deal came gave Real Madrid an 8 million buy back clause which is why they were open to selling him cheaply.

Real Madrid looked set to trigger his eight million euro buy back clause and sell him on. Paz was easily worth 10 times his sign on clause so doing so was a no brainer. Madrid met with Como yesterday to discuss this, however the gave them the option to sign Paz for cheaper.

Real Madrid offered Como a deal to sign him for 60 million euros, roughly 20 million less than what he is worth. Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Como have decided to take this deal and keep him for next season. But, this deal will keep a buy-back clause for next season.

This buy-back clause will be worth, 80 million euros similar to Nico Paz’s market value. This is a deal that makes sense for both teams as Paz wanted to stay in Como for next season, and Real Madrid wasn’t ready to play him. Especially, since he wasn’t in Jose Mourinho’s vision for the current team.

AC Milan are set to undergo major changes this summer, as they are looking for a new technical identity. This has lead to the hiring of Ruben Amorim as manager to replacing the out going Massimiliano Allegri. Milan also bought in a whole new backroom staff to begin the project.

The first item on the new AC Milan’s agenda was filling some of the gaps in the team. Especially, those requested by Ruben Amorim, a holding midfielder and a striker. Milan have been linked to Morten Hjumland and Richard Rios, but no serious talks have been conducted for them.

They have however completed the signing of Goncalo Ramos according to Nico Schira. This is Goncalo Ramos from PSG, who was specifically requested to be signed by Amorim. Ramos was open to a move as he was looking to leave Paris for more playing time.

Milan have managed to close negotiations with PSG on a deal for 70 million euros plus bonuses. This will be Milan’s most expensive transfer fee, beating out Rafael Leao’s signing by 20 million euros. The willingness of AC Milan to spend this much is a way to show the intent they have to rebuild to the rest of Serie A and to Ruben Amorim.

Goncalo Ramos has already agreed personal terms with PSG on a deal until 2031. This deal will see Ramos earn 5 million euros per season at Milan. While this is a lot, it is less than some strikers for top Serie A clubs, such as Jonathan David who earns 6 million per season. Milan and PSG will now work to complete the paperwork, while Ramos will have a medical with Milan in the USA while he is at the World Cup.

Roma could be forced to Mile Svilar as Juventus could pounce to sign him

Published

AS Roma have found themselves stuck as it looks that they will be forced to sell players and fast. This comes as they have a 50 million euro capital gain deficit which will need to be filled soon, to avoid a further sanction. This has lead to the Gialorossi considering sell players that were seemingly untouchable a few weeks ago.

Manu Kone is the first of these, as foreign interest could force Roma’s hand to sell. Especially if the reports on him agreeing to a move to England are true (read more here). Mile Svilar could also be among the names that they look to sell according to Tuttosport, who report that Juventus are ready to pounce on him.

This comes as Juventus are still on the hunt for a replacement for Michele Di Gregorio. Emiliano Martinez looked to be the runaway favourite for Juventus to sign but the Bianconeri failed to agree terms with Aston Villa as of yet. This could lead Juventus away from Martinez and towards Svilar even if they have to spend 30-40 million euros to do it.

This offer of 30-40 million would be hard for Roma to resist, especially on such short notice that they have to give Juventus. This will force them to seriously consider it, especially if they can’t agree a deal to sell any other player. Gasperini also believes that Svilar is easier to replace, which could push them to make a deal.

The two clubs have opened talks to discuss formula on the deals through intermediaries. However, these are only initial talks that have begun and aren’t near being completed. Juventus will hope to meet Roma’s terms sooner rather than later as it could stop them from taking in the capital gains from other clubs.
