Inter Milan are set to go under a major revolution in the summer as they look to build a more Chivu centric team. Chivu should manage to take this Nerazzurri side to the Scudetto as they lead by seven points with seven games left. However, Inter did struggle in Europe as they were embarrassed by Bodo Glimt in the Round of 32.

The midfield will be undergo big changes in the summer, as they have been known to follow Manu Kone for most of this season. Inter will likely lose some of their older midfielders, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hakan Calhanoglu being the main talking points. But most of there changes will likely come in central defence.

Inter will allow Francesco Acerbi and Stefan De Vrij leave the side as free agents after this season. This has been most of the reporting that has come from sources close to the club for most of the season. But, Acerbi was strong last weekend against Inter Milan and this could lead Inter to keeping him.

However, even in the slight chance that Acerbi stays, Inter will still need to sign another centre back. Matteo Moretto is now reporting that Inter are closing in on signing Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo. This comes as Inter have managed to come to an agreement with Muharemovic.

Muharemovic has been a key target for Inter over the recent months, as Inter is his favourite option out of all the possible teams he could land at. However, Juventus hold a 50% sell on clause for any deal for Muharemovic, this could end up with them signing him over Inter for cheaper.

This has lead the Fredkin’s (Roma’s ownership family) looking to revolutionise the team, while Gian Piero Gasperini according to Leggo news paper (via Romapress)

Roma will be forced to make some big sales in the summer, as they have struggled to meet financial fair play goals. Mile Svilar and Manu Kone have both been linked to make a move to Inter in the summer. Svilar is also being followed by Premier League sides ahead of this summer.

The same goes for Evan Ndicka who also has admirers in the Premier League and Turkey. It is hard to see all three of these players being sold in the summer. But Roma will be forced to sell at least one which Gian Piero Gasperini can understand but he doesn’t feel a full squad revolution is needed.

The Fredkin’s are also putting contract renewals hold as they look to evaluate the entire team according to Matteo Moretto. Mainly this will effect Bryan Cristante and Gianluca Mancini are the key names that are up for contract extensions. Both looked like they would stay in Rome, but could leave the side instead.

Lorenzo Pellegrini and Paulo Dybala are also both set to be up for new deals, that likely won’t happen. However, this has been known for most of this season, as Roma will look for new attacking midfielders in the summer. Gasperini will likely have a say on who comes in as Gasperini wants similar types of players he had in Bergamo.

Inter Milan are set to cruise to the Scudetto for the rest of the season, as Chivu has turned around an emotional scarred team. However, the Nerazzurri haven’t been perfect across the board, being knocked out by Bodo Glimt in the Champions League. Inter will now look to build a stronger team in the summer to go deeper in the Champions League.

According to Corriere Dello Sport, Inter will mainly look to do so by changing their midfield. There will be multiple exits with Davide Frattesi is almost guaranteed to leave this summer. Henrik Mkhitaryan will also likely leave the side, as talks for his renewal for Inter have died down and his contract expires after this season.

Hakan Calhanoglu could also be on the way out of Milan this summer. His contract expires after next season, and there has been no talks of a renewal. This could lead to Inter selling him this summer to stop him from leaving as a free agent next season. Galatasaray have been the main team that have been aiming to sign Hakan, but no talks are underway.

Inter will likely spend big this summer to build a new midfield, in the aims to replace who they will lose in the summer. Aleksandar Stankovic is guaranteed to come back to Milan in the summer, as Inter will trigger his 22 million euro buy out option. He has worked with Chivu before during his time at Inter’s youths teams.

Manu Kone is the biggest name that Inter will try to sign in the summer. Inter have been following Kone for a while, as he is a favorite of Christian Chivu. One benefit for Inter Milan is that Roma will have to make sales during this summer, to meet finical fair play, which makes a deal plausible for Inter.

However, there was no guarantee that Kone will leave Roma as they could make other sales. Maximo Perrone from Como has been linked. Javier Zanetti has been talking to the Argentine to convince him, but there is still no guarantee on his future. Meanwhile, Inter will likely make another move for Curtis Jones like they did in January. Jones could look for a way out of Liverpool as he is still struggling for game time.

This comes from a report from Gazzetta Dello Sport, which state that he has offered himself to both sides. Retegui is looking for a way out of Saudi Arabia, as the league isn’t competitive for him. His poor form for the Azzurri could come down to this which is why he wants to make a move back home.

However, his wages could also be an issue as he earns 16 million euros per season in Saudi. It is hard to see Milan or Juventus paying half of this fee to Retegui. But if he Retegui really does want a move home he will drop his wages to do so. However, high wages could be a issue for Milan and Juventus again if they go after Robert Lewandowski.
