Juventus have struggled defensively this month, as fixtures have got more competitive and common. The Bianconeri have already conceded 14 goals this month. This is despite their still being two more games coming up before March. Juventus believe that they know the issue with the teams defence.

Luciano Spalletti and the board, are pinning the blame to Michele Di Gregorio’s name. Di Gregorio was a standout last season, in his first run around with Juventus. Di Gregorio kept nine clean sheets in 32 league games last season, but has struggled this season.

This has lead to the reports of Juventus looking to replace Di Gregorio in the summer. According, to CalcioMercatoIT, they have already begun talks over a swap deal in the summer. This would be Marco Carnesecchi, from Atalanta who has been a standout in Serie A this season.

This has lead to multiple sides, across Europe wanting Carnesecchi, in the summer. So, Juventus will likely have stiff competition if they choose to do so. Juventus, will struggle to afford Carnesecchi especially if they look to bring in other signings in the summer, which has lead to the proposal of a swap deal.

Federico Gatti was offered to Atalanta in the deal, as he looks to be expendable by Juventus this summer. Gatti wasn’t sold in the summer, but Marcos Senesi could arrive in the summer. This would mean that Gatti could leave in the summer, so he was offered to Atalanta with cash.

However, Atalanta turned this down as they have set their sights on a different Juventus player. Atalanta asked for Fabio Miretti, plus cash to complete a deal for Juventus. There where links with Miretti leaving Juventus in the summer, but now they are unlikely to let him go, even for Carnesecchi.

Napoli set to keep Alisson Santos in Naples past this season

Napoli have been one of the best teams, in Serie A post January as they used their mercato efficiently. They managed to fill all of the gaps from the first six months of the season, mostly due to injury. This has left them clinging on to Scudetto hopes after winning their last five games.

This turn in form has seen them jump to second and go seven points behind Inter Milan. While the Nerazzurri will likely be able to wrap up the Scudetto from here, Napoli still have an outside chance. But, knowing their chances are slim, Napoli will likely begin to plan for next season.

Napoli, will look for a tune up to push Inter again next season, and aim to win the clubs fifth title. This is especially true in attack, as Romelu Lukaku will likely leave the club, as he hasn’t returned to Naples to recover from injury. Giovanni Manna has now be quoted to say that as a club “We will take our measures”.

This could lead to Lukaku leaving Naples in the summer, which means that Napoli will look to replace him in attack. The obvious name is Rasmus Hojlund who will have his 44 million euro buyout clause triggered this summer. Hojlund has already replaced Lukaku in some sense while the Belgian has been out injured.

They will likely also change the attacking support, around him. A change of system could force this by Conte, or a different manager if Conte leaves to take the Azzurri job. Napoli already began this process this summer by signing Giovane Nascimento and Alisson Santos in the summer.

Giovane was signed on a permanent transfer from Hellas Verona so he is guaranteed to stay past this season. For Alisson Santos it is a different story however, as his deal was a loan to buy. However, a new report from Gianluca Di Marzio, suggest that Napoli will now trigger his buy clause from Sporting CP worth 15 million euros.

Juventus have began their preparations for the upcoming mercato, during the back half of this season. This comes as it will be the first under new manager Luciano Spalletti who was appointed during this season. Juventus will look to capitalize this summer, to try and turn around the clubs recent poor fortunes.

Majority of Juventus’s signings this summer, will likely be free agents as they are already in talks with multiple. Marcos Senesi and Bernardo Silva are two talks for already, but it is not the only signings they make. Juventus will also look to sign players in the transfer market.

However, most of this is dependent on if Juventus manage to qualify for the Champions League. They managed to close in on fourth place today with a 2-0 win over Genoa, putting them only one point behind. Manuel Ugarte could be a key target for Juventus if they do manage to qualify for the Champions League.

This comes from a report from CaughtOffside, which states that Ugarte is up for sale. They are reporting that a multitude of clubs are monitoring Ugarte but mainly, Galatasaray, Newcastle United and Aston Villa. However, Juventus are still the most likely to sign Ugarte in the summer.

Marco Ottolini has been personally scouting Ugarte in the hopes of completing a deal to bring him to Turin. This comes as Manchester United could see Ugarte if a bid in the ball park range of 40 million euros, which Juventus should be able to match. However, Ugarte earns currently 4 million euros per season which could make the deal hard for Juventus.

In January, rumours began to circulate from Italian media over the possibility of Atalanta being sold. There was interest from multiple Turkish sides as they hoped to steal Ederson away. However, the main team that was interested in signing Ederson was Atletico Madrid throughout the month.

However, Atalanta turned away all offers as they wanted to keep Ederson until the end of the season. Manager, Raffaele Palladino wanted to keep him for the rest of this season. This was before using this summer to decide the future of Ederson and seeing if he is replaceable.

But, this didn’t stop Atletico Madrid from opening talks with Ederson over a contract to see him come to Madrid. The two have already agreed on personal terms for a four year deal, that is worth 5 million euros per season. Ederson’s deal will also come with a 2 million euro signing bonus once he makes the move.

Now, according to Sky Sport Italia that Atletico Madrid have finally opened talks with Atalanta to try and complete a deal, ahead of the summer. The first offer that Atleti has made is worth only 38 million euros, split up in a 35 million euro fee with an added 3 million euro in bonuses.

However, this is still short of the 50 million euros that Atalanta want to sell Ederson in the summer. This has raised from the 40 million euros that was reported in January, which has now seen Atleti big seem far fetched. But, if Ederson pushes to leave Atalanta this summer the asking price could come back down to 40 million euros.
