Denzel Dumfries, last played for Inter on the 10th of November as he has been out injured for nearly three months. Most would think this would hinder Inter this season, but it hasn’t. Inter sit first place in the league five points clear of second place AC Milan, over halfway through the season.

There is a belief in Milan that this season could be Dumfries last for the Nerazzurri. This has lead Inter to begin looking for replacements for Dumfries. This lead them to the idea of signing Dan Ndoye, however this deal has fallen through. Nottingham Forest simply don’t want to sell Ndoye.

Inter have now begun looking at other alternatives, one of which is a former player. This would be Ivan Perisic who could make a move back to Milan. This comes from a report from Sky Sports which states that Inter have opened talks with PSV to sign Perisic. PSV are now open to the idea of losing Perisic this month.

PSV have now been eliminated from the Champions League, and will have less fixtures for the rest of the season. They are now ready to get rid of Perisic as he is no longer needed. However, he isn’t the only option that Inter has as Moussa Diaby has been on their radar in recent days.

Moussa Diaby signed for Al-Ittihad at the start of last season, and it seems that a year and half is enough time for him in Saudi Arabia. Diaby is now looking for a way back to Europe and signing for Inter could be a good way to do so. The deal is close to being complete but there is some minor issues according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Diaby has agreed to take a pay cut to sign from Inter Milan, down from his 12 million euros currently. But Inter and Al-Ittihad are yet to agree to a deal. The owners of Al-Ittihad still need to agree to Diaby leaving and then the deal can be completed, this will all need to be done before the transfer deadline in two days.

Inter Milan have been one of Italy’s and Europe’s best attacks so far this season. So far this season they have scored 65 goals in the league through 29 games. This puts Inter comfortably first in the category compared to the rest of the league. The second closest team, Juventus sits on only 51 goals.

While Lautaro Martinez, clear world class talent has been helpful, there has been other reasons. Pio Esposito and Ange Yoan Bonny have both become key rotational names for Inter throughout this season. The youngsters have given Chivu new possibilities for his attack this season.

This has left Inter trying to decide who will lead their attack into next season. Marcus Thuram name has therefore come up in the rumours multiple times as there is no guarantee he stays. He has been linked to other European clubs, including FC Barcelona multiple times this season.

However, their has still been issues with these teams, as affording Thuram is an issue. Inter Milan won’t let him leave for cheap, and it could even take Thuram’s 85 million euros release clause to see him leave Milan this summer. This could be an issue as top European teams would likely not be willing to spend this.

However, TuttoSport are now reporting that there is a different side that would. They are reporting that a side in the Saudi Pro League could decide to make a bid for Thuram. Many of Saudi’s top sides are back by rich owners who would be willing to invest the money to sign Thuram, which a European club wouldn’t. This could be the ket factor in seeing the deal get done if it is to happen this summer.

Gennaro Gattuso is looking for young talent to build the future of the Azzuri’s squad around. There has been plenty of names which are younger and can come into the team. However, so far only one has been able to do so and hold their spot in the side. Riccardo Calafiori has been the only one able to do so currently.

Juventus are now hopeful to make a move to try and sign Calafiori once again. However, this time they aren’t the only Serie A team interested with, Napoli, AC Milan and Inter Milan all keeping track of Calafiori. This has come as he has struggled a little bit for gametime this season.

It has been rare to see Calafiori to play a full ninety minutes for Arsenal this season. He has either been a key option off the bench for Mikel Arteta or started and be bought off before completing the full 90. This is what lead to the rumours of Calafiori moving back to Serie A.

However, according to TEAMtalk a deal for Calafiori to leave Arsenal is now unlikely. Arsenal have blocked any move for Calafiori as they aim to keep him in North London past this season. They also have no reason to sell Calafiori as he is not unhappy with the club.

Italian football clubs are slowly looking to spend more money on transfers compared to other leagues. Part of this is down to poor TV rights deal, and Stadium Ownership which makes it hard for some clubs to raise capital for signings. This has meant that Italian sides have had to get creative to complete big signings.

An example of this was last summer was when Napoli signed Kevin De Bruyne as a free agent. De Bruyne has been Napolis strongest addition this season, despite suffering injury issues across the season. Napoli have considered making a similar move again to Fabrizio Romano via Youtube.

Leon Goretzka was a name that Napoli discussed heavily, as they could have made a free agent move. However, Napoli have decided against it as they believe that his wage demands are too high. However, this isn’t a struggle for other Serie A clubs as they could make a move.

Inter Milan have now opened up contacts with Leon Goretzka and his agents over a potential move, to Italy his summer. This would be a big splash for Inter, and would likely lead to another midfielder leaving, Right now that name could be Hakan Calhanoglu who’s contract expires after next season.

But, Davide Frattesi could also leave the Nerazzurri this summer. He has struggled for gametime so far this season which is now hurting his Italian national team chances (read more here). But it is no guarantee for Inter as Juventus have also made an offer for Goretzka. However, the deal that Juventus offered was low for what Goretzka is asking, as Inter could have the same issue.
