Barcelona looking at another Serie A centre back if Bastoni is unavaliable
Alessandro Bastoni to Barcelona has been one of the biggest stories of the last couple of weeks. Ever since news broke that Bastoni and Barcelona have opened talks over a contract for the future, it has been the biggest story in Serie A. It has come at a terrible time for Bastoni, as his name has been dragged through the mud recently.
Bastoni faced a large amount of media backlash for his dive, which saw Pierre Kalulu sent off in the Derby D’Italia. This changed the game as a yellow card for simulation on Bastoni would have seen him sent off instead. The incident between Bastoni and Kalulu flipped the game and could’ve made a win for Inter, one for Juventus.
Finally when media talk died down for this incident, Bastoni went to play for the Azzurri. Then he was sent off while playing for the Azzurri against Bosnia, which led to Italy losing a game that would have seen them gone to the World Cup. This is why Barcelona are trying to speed up a deal for Bastoni to finally take him out of the news.
CalcioMercatoIT are now reporting that Barcelona do also have a backup from within Serie A. This comes as Inter have shown some hesitancy towards a deal to sell Bastoni. Jhon Lucumi is the alternative name for Barcelona if they don’t manage to sign Bastoni this summer.

Lucumi has already been watched by multiple teams, as a potential name for the summer. This is partly due to his good form for Bologna during this season, even when they have struggled at times. But it is also due to the fact that his contract expires at the end of next season, which could see Bologna sell him for cheap this summer.

Atalanta and Atletico Madrid open talks over possible Ederson sale in the summer
In January, rumours began to circulate from Italian media over the possibility of Atalanta being sold. There was interest from multiple Turkish sides as they hoped to steal Ederson away. However, the main team that was interested in signing Ederson was Atletico Madrid throughout the month.
However, Atalanta turned away all offers as they wanted to keep Ederson until the end of the season. Manager, Raffaele Palladino wanted to keep him for the rest of this season. This was before using this summer to decide the future of Ederson and seeing if he is replaceable.

But, this didn’t stop Atletico Madrid from opening talks with Ederson over a contract to see him come to Madrid. The two have already agreed on personal terms for a four year deal, that is worth 5 million euros per season. Ederson’s deal will also come with a 2 million euro signing bonus once he makes the move.
Now, according to Sky Sport Italia that Atletico Madrid have finally opened talks with Atalanta to try and complete a deal, ahead of the summer. The first offer that Atleti has made is worth only 38 million euros, split up in a 35 million euro fee with an added 3 million euro in bonuses.
However, this is still short of the 50 million euros that Atalanta want to sell Ederson in the summer. This has raised from the 40 million euros that was reported in January, which has now seen Atleti big seem far fetched. But, if Ederson pushes to leave Atalanta this summer the asking price could come back down to 40 million euros.

Andrea Cambiaso being monitored by two of Europe’s top clubs
One of the biggest stories of Juventus’s campaign last season, was the decision to not sell Andrea Cambiaso. This was despite reports that Manchester City offered Juventus, 80 million euros to sell Cambiaso. At the time this was seen as a good move for Juventus, as they look to build a strong young core.
Rumors around City making a move stayed around, but eventually died down as the season continued. However, at the same time, Cambiaso form slowly started to die down as well, which left some Juventus fans wishing they sold him. But, according to Mirko Di Natale, some of Europe’s top teams are still interested.
Firstly, there is AC Milan who could make a move for Andrea Cambiaso this summer. Last summer, they sold Theo Hernandez to Al Hilal as his time in Milan seemed to come to a natural end. Pervis Estupinan was signed last summer, but he has failed to miss the mark, and has been replaced by Davide Bartesaghi.

Milan could push very hard to sign Cambiaso this summer, as Estupinan could be sold. AC Milan manager, Massimiliano Allegri is a big catalyst behind the deal. He has worked with Cambiaso before in Turin, and wants to reunite with him in Milan. Which could motivate the board to complete the deal.
However, they are not the only European giant that are interested in signing Cambiaso, with Barcelona interested. Barcelona, have struggled at the left back position over the last few years. Joao Cancelo was signed in the summer, but he is only a short term option, so Cambiaso could be the name to replace him for the future.

Juventus set to keep Jeremie Boga past his six month loan
The first half of Juventus’s campaign was outlined with a struggle for scoring goals. This was despite signings of both Jonathan David and Lois Openda being bought last summer to fix the problem. The struggles have now lead, Juventus to open talks for a contract renewal with Dusan Vlahovic.
Vlahovic staying in Turin, seemed almost impossible last summer, due to Vlahovic’s wage demands. However, the struggle to replace him has made Juventus see his value. They are now even willing to meet Vlahovic in the middle paying more than they would like, and less than he wants.

However, he is not the only player Juventus is ready to keep past this summer. Jeremie Boga, was brought in during the January, transfer window in the hopes to boost Juventus struggling attack. He has done so emphatically hitting the ground running in Turin scoring three goals in his first seven Serie A matches.
This has lead Juventus aiming to keep Boga past the six month loan period, according to a report from Nico Schira. Part of the deal is already completed for Juventus as the initial loan came with a buy clause between the two clubs. This will see Juventus pay only 4.8 million euros for Boga this summer.
A low fee like this will be a steal for a player that has been as good as Boga for Juventus. This is still true considering his age as Boga is a more experienced player at 29, but also not too old where it is a liability. Boga contract with Juventus will likely reflect this as Juventus has agreed a deal until 2029 with Boga.
